Bravo joins Shakib, Gayle in Barishal
Fortune Barishal replaced Sri Lanka's Danushka Gunathilaka with West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League after the former could not acquire a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Each team can have three overseas players signed directly outside the draft in this year's BPL. Danushka was an overseas player directly signed by Barishal.
Barishal had already signed Shakib Al Hasan as their only local player outside the draft. Before roping in Bravo, the franchisee had signed three more Caribbean players with the likes of Alzarri Joseph, Obed Mccoy and Chris Gayle, also known as the 'Universe Boss'.
Bravo is a familiar face in the premier franchise-based T20 tournament in Bangladesh. The 38-year-old cricketer previously featured for Chittagong Kings, Comilla Victorians and Dhaka Dynamites.
Six teams are participating in this campaign of the BPL which is set to start from January 21 across three cities.
