Steven Finn has been included in England’s ODI squad for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh to cap a memorable week for the Watford-born cricketer.

The England cricket team arrive tonight to play two Tests and three ODIs. The team is scheduled to land at 8:00 pm at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport amidst heavy security. The series will begin on October 7.

The teams will play the first two ODIs in Dhaka and the final ODI in Chittagong. After which they will play one Test in Chittagong and return to Dhaka to play the final Test.

The 27-year-old claimed four wickets as his Middlesex side won the County Championship for the first time since 1993 with a 61-run win over Yorkshire at Lords, reports the Watford Observer.

Finn can also rest assured that he has a Test future after his central contract was renewed.

The new contracts come into effect on Saturday and see a shift in the way players are rewarded, with one-day and Twenty20 international players being paid more than test.

The restructure acknowledges the increasing popularity of shortened formats of the game.

Director of cricket, Andrew Strauss, explained: “We believe the restructure of the central contract system will recognise the increased focus on the shorter format and the importance we place on this.

“It is undeniable that the introduction of central contracts in 2002 has greatly benefited the fortunes of the England Test team.”
