A Bangladeshi youth won a gold medal in Robo Scholar Challenge Category of International Robot D Challenge in South Korea today.

Rafihath Saleh Chowdhury, a student of Jalalabad Cantonment English School and College in Sylhet, got the gold medal for outstanding performance in the event, said Prof Dr Lafifa Jamal, president of Bangladesh Robot Olympiad.

Besides, Quazi Mostahid Labib and Tafsir Tahrim, students of Chittagong Grammar School (Dhaka), won technical awards in the same category, she added.

During the International Robot Olympiad last year, Labib and Tahrim won gold medals for the first time as Bangladeshis, said Lafifa, also the chairperson of Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering of Dhaka University.

The Bangladesh team will participate in two other competitions scheduled to be held tomorrow.
