Bangladesh ODI captain Tami Iqbal top-scored for his Pakistan Super League side Lahore Qalandars but it was not enough as Karachi Kings coasted to their maiden title with a five-wicket win in the final in Karachi yesterday.

Riding on Babar Azam's brilliant, unbeaten 63 off 49 balls, Karachi overhauled Lahore's modest score of 134 for seven with seven balls to spare.

Opening the innings after Lahore chose to bat first,Tamim scored 35 off 38 balls with four boundaries and a six as Lahore reached 68 without loss after 10 overs. However, Tamim holed out to midwicket off the first ball of the 11th over, initiating a collapse of five wickets for 29 runs as Lahore could manage only 134 for seven in 20 overs.

Fellow opener Fakhar Zaman was the only other Lahore batsman to pass 20, scoring a 24-ball 27.

In reply, Babar kept Karachi marching smoothly to their first title, hitting seven boundaries in his composed knock.

Lahore pacer Haris Rauf caused a late flutter by getting two wicket in the 18 th over, but by then Karachi were just 11 short of the target, and Babar guided them home without further alarm.
