Shakib, Fizz return from India
Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman have returned the country today following the suspended IPL, BCB airport coordinator informed to The Daily Star.
The two players boarded a flight from Ahmedabad today at 1pm and landed at Dhaka at 4 pm.
The quarantine period for the two cricketers has possibly not been decided yet even as the DGHS had previously informed that they have prescribed 14-day quarantine for both players. It was learned Fizz and Shakib will be staying at city hotels in Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue and Gulshan respectively along with family.
The chartered flight Fizz and Shakib boarded were arranged by the BCCI with their respective franchises carrying the cost of the flight. With air travel from India still suspended due to the rise in Covid-19 in the country, the two cricket boards had to make arrangements and seek special approval from competent authority in Bangladesh in order for safe passage of the star duo amidst the pandemic.
The Tigers will play Sri Lanka in the upcoming three-match ODI series from May 23 and even if the star duo has to quarantine for 14 days, they will be able to start practicing and take the field in time before the first ODI.
