Prime Bank bounce back, Kamrul stuns Rupganj
Prime Bank got back to winning ways as in-form Rony Talukdar's fifty helped them to a challenging score before the bowlers defended the target against OLD DOHS in the Dhaka Premier Division T20 Cricket League match at BKSP today. Courtesy of today's 22-run win, Prime Bank have shot to 14 points at the top of the table with seven wins.
Batting first, Tamim Iqbal (25 off 28) and Rony put together a 51-run opening stand before the former departed. Rony struck a 39-ball 54, laced with five fours and three sixes. Despite the middle order not shining, Prime Bank put on 147 for 7. Rakibul Hasan and Asaduzzaman Payel picked up two wickets each for OLD DOHS.
Prime Bank bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals with Shoriful Islam picking up three for 23 in four overs. Rubel Hossain bagged one while Alok Kapali and Nahidul Islam bagged two each to bundle OLD DOHS for 125.
It was the bowlers' day in the other match at BKSP between Prime Doleshwar and Legends of Rupganj. Doleshwar were bowled out for just 118 with Fazle Mahmud Rabbi hitting a team-high 38-ball 29. Mohammad Sahid bagged three wickets for 28 runs for Rupganj.
Pacer Kamrul Islam Rabbi bagged three wickets for 15 runs in four overs while Shafiqul Islam scalped two wickets for six runs in three overs as Rupganj only managed 104 for 8 to hand Doleshwar a 14-run win.
At Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla, Sajjadul Haque's 34-ball 48 and Towhid Hridoy's 42-ball 46 helped Shinepukur Cricket club to 154 for six with Khaled Ahmed picking up three wickets for 20 runs for Khelaghar.
In reply, Khelaghar never got going and following rain interruption, their target was shortened to 126 in 16 overs. Khelaghar managed 110 for 7 with Tanvir Islam and Mohor Sheikh picking up two wickets each for Shinepukur.
