Fizz sensing the challenges of ‘bubble’ life
Having completed just one training session in 25 days, the disappointment in ace paceman Mustafizur Rahman's voice was clear today as he talked about his preparations ahead of the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Mustafizur and Shakib Al Hasan returned to the country on May 6 after the IPL was suspended due to Covid-19 escalation in India. Between quarantining in India and then returning to the country to quarantine again, Fizz was starting to feel the pressure of being inside the 'bubble' life.
"While playing the IPL and also room quarantine in our country meant that I have done just one session in 25 days and played in one match. Don't know what it will amount to. Me and Shakib bhai were both in that condition," Mustafizur told the media after training today.
Heavy rainfall prevented the Tigers from practicing yesterday and for Fizz each day counts.
"Couldn't train yesterday and trained today. I will get two more days, so I am leaving everything to the Almighty. Let's see what I can try," he said.
The Tigers have a practice match at BKSP tomorrow and Fizz will be hoping to make it count.
Asked to reaffirm if there is a lot of lagging in terms of preparations, Fizz replied: "A lot."
