BD U-19 lose warm-up match against NZ
Bangladesh Under-19 lost their second and final official warm-up fixture by four wickets against New Zealand Under-19 in Johannesburg today ahead of the upcoming ICC Under 19 World Cup.
After being asked to bat, Bangladesh were bundled out for a meagre 112 in just 29 overs. A team-high of 46-ball 36 came from Towhid Hridoy in the middle while only two other batsmen were able to cross the double-figure mark. Young Kiwi pacer Joey Field remained the most impressive, returning figures of four for 35 in seven overs.
After the exchange, despite Tanzid Hasan's excellent display with the bowl, New Zealand under-19 were able to get over the line with four wickets and 123 balls to spare. Tanzid returned figures of three for 30 in 8.3 overs that also featured a maiden. Young Kiwi opener Rhys Mariu gave his team a decent start, scoring a team high of 41-ball 32 before an unbeaten 42-ball 41 from Jesse Tashkoff helped New Zealand romp to victory.
