BCB XI start with a draw
The first four-day game between the visiting Bangladesh Cricket Board XI and the Vidarbha Cricket Association in the Dr (Capt) K. Thimmappiah Memorial tournament ended in a draw at the Golden Oval in Aluru today.
The game on the final day resumed with BCB XI batting on 42 for one in their second innings with 189-run lead.
The visitors however were all-out for 175 runs. Opener Saif Hassan top scored with 47 runs and helped set 323 runs target for the opposition to chase. Right-arm pacer Atharva Deshpande took four wickets to lead the Vidarbha bowlers.
With just 14 overs remaining to the day Vidarbha lost only one wicket and scored 38 runs before the game eventually ended in a draw.
Earlier Bangladesh declared their first innings on 500 for 7 riding on centuries from Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain and took the first innings lead after bundling out Vidarbha on 353 runs courtesy of Taijul Islam's eight wicket haul.
