Abul Hasan replaces Mustafizur in Tigers’ squad
Abul Hasan, primarily a pace bowler, who burst onto the international stage when he became the first number 10 to score a century on Test debut in 110 years replaced injured Mustafizur Rahman in the Tigers' squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
Courtney Walsh had yesterday said that following Mustafizur's injury it was a big opportunity for the others to showcase their talent.
Injury-prone Abul has not been able to establish himself in the national side despite having all the attributes to become a handy all-rounder as he played just seven ODIs and four T20Is since 2012 and has been in and out of the Bangladesh team.
While Abul made his T20I debut before his incredible Test debut in the same year in 2012, he has not featured in the shortest format in the past six years mostly because of multiple injuries.
Abul will fly for Dehradun to join the rest of the Bangladesh squad on Friday, June 1. On May 20, Mustafizur injured his toe while trying to stop a ball during an IPL match for Mumbai Indians and was subsequently ruled out of the tour on Monday night.
