Sprinter Imranur in 100m semifinals

Bangladesh's fastest man Imranur Rahman produced his personal best to move into the semifinals of 100m sprint at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey today.

The England-based sprinter finished second in the Heat-4 with a time of 10.01 seconds as a sprinter from Ivory Coast put behind Imranur in the Heat by clocking 9.78 seconds, said a press release from the Bangladesh Olympic Association.

The 29-year-old sprinter had been eliminated from Heat of the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Birmingham after clocking 10.46 seconds on August 2.    

Although Imranur moved into the semifinals, peddler Sadia Rahman Mou suffered a 3-0 defeat to her Iranian counterparts in the quarterfinals of women's singles.
