Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has allocated Tk 9 crore as Eid gift for the shop employees, traders and owners at the capital’s Bangabazar, who were affected by a massive fire on April 4.
Affected traders of Bangabazar yesterday started their business by setting up makeshift shops.
The fire at Bangabazar Shopping Complex and adjacent markets burnt down 3,845 shops and caused an estimated loss of Tk 303 crore, said the probe committee of Dhaka South City Corporation.
Shop owners of Bangabazar Shopping Complex, which was burnt to the ground last week, can start their business in makeshift shops from tomorrow, said the authorities.
