Kushum Shikder: The Controversy Continues
It has been about a month since Kushum Shikder's controversial music video Nesha was issued a legal notice of removal by the Supreme Court Lawyer Aftab Uddin Siddiqui. The incident had raised nationwide discussion regarding the legal grounds on which the video stands, leading many to believe that all this has been Kushum's own controversy in the making. Regardless, the fact remained that the controversy surrounding Kushum's Nesha has given the song more fame that it possibly could have asked for, and even now, the consequences of such controversy remains to be prevalent. Just last Sunday, a new allegation has been made against Kushum Shikder and six other individuals involved in the making of the music video Nesha; this time, on a pornography lawsuit. The Supreme Court Lawyer Khandaker Nazmul Ahsan was the one who filed the case on this allegation in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Nurunnahar Yasmin. After the case was issued in court, the Ramna Police Station was asked to further investigate the allegation to its fullest. The allegation claimed that the music video is not only unhealthy and distasteful; it is a lethal threat against the music industry and the society in general. The report mentioned a clear-cut count of the number of the explicit scenes present in the video, which contained a mixture of bath scenes, swimming pool scenes, bed scenes and kissing scenes in vivid quantity. Furthermore, it was claimed in the report that the lyrics of the song do not match the video at all, which is an indication that Kusum knowingly inserted needless explicit scenes of herself in the video. The allegation has also sued the co-actor Khaled Hossain Sujon, the video director Shuvro Khan and the video publishers Stellar Digital Ltd.
