Taposh wins India's prestigious Dadsaheb Phalke Award

One of India's highest awards in the field of cinema, the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, has been awarded to Bangladesh's leading singer and music director Kaushik Hossain Taposh. The award was handed to Taposh at the gala arranged on April 21 in Mumbai. He is the first Bangladeshi to receive this award in the Best Singer and Music Director (Bangladesh) category. Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Kartik Aryan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Simi Garewal, Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Karan Johar, Rana Daggubati and other artists have received the award this year for their contribution in helping Indian cinema and television reach newer heights, on the occasion of Dadasaheb Phalke's 149th birth anniversary.
