10 most Instagrammable places in Dhaka

Instagram is the social networking app many can't live without. If you are someone who checks their Insta first thing every morning and need your feed to be on top of everyone's, here's a list of photogenic places in Dhaka.

Lalbagh Fort: The majestic architecture of this incomplete 17th century Mughal fort is sure to make you stand out in the Insta feed. Be it a panorama of the fort or a photo of you artistically posing in front of it, the photo is definitely going to be a hit.

Bengal Boi: This one has already become a favourite although it opened only recently. This book lover's paradise, as many call it, has many of your favourite books, great seating arrangements, and also a café for you to sip on some steaming coffee while turning the pages of a new book. For the “bookstagrammers” out there, it is the perfect place, with good lighting too.

Ajo Idea Space: Situated in Uttara Sector 13, this café has some mouth-watering items – be it their special fried calamari with lime, the steak with grilled veggies and mashed potato, or the brownie with ice cream. The delicious food coupled with the avant-garde décor, is definitely going to make a stunning photo.

Drik Gallery: A great place for upcoming artists and photographers, exhibitions are almost always going on in Drik Gallery. Take a stroll amidst beautiful art and be sure to take some candid photos in front of the paintings.

White Canary Café: The café's special buttermilk blueberry pancakes are sure to tickle your senses. With so many options to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect dish for you. Don't forget to take a photo of the artistic heart on top of your latte that the barista is kind enough to draw.

Clay Station Dhaka: Located in Banani, this is the perfect place for you to reconnect with friends and family while making your own pottery and going crazy with the paint. They call it “fun art” and not fine art, so everybody can do it. This is the ultimate spot to unwind from the day-to-day pressures and relax. Get your hands dirty and then show off your beautiful creations on your Instagram.

Melody and Co.: Perhaps not one of the fancier places, this musical instrument store is a favourite amongst many. With a myriad of instruments to choose from, you can definitely spend some quality time learning about familiar and exotic ones or just strum away some of your favourite tunes.

Bunka Restaurant at Six Seasons: A more high-end option for those craving some delicious food and an amazing 360-degree view of the city, Bunka can be the source of many memorable photos.

Dhanmondi Lake: Although it isn't the first place that comes to mind when one thinks of Instagram, it is one that deserves a spot on your feed. Walking through the park adjacent to the lake, you would see lush green trees and especially now, in winter, maybe some seasonal flowers. Many find it a place to relax and young artists can often be seen painting the beautiful scenery on paper.

Dhaka University: Not many can resist the charm of the DU area. Be it TSC, Curzon Hall or Charukala – the ornate architecture and vibrant street art can make any picture look extra special. The canteens such as Madhur Canteen, TSC Canteen or DUS are all favourites and serve delicious snacks sure to fill your empty stomachs.
