A Torture of a Word Game

If you like challenging spelling games, then BAIKOH is just the game for you. This high score based game features blocks of falling letters with which you have to make up words until a column passes the ceiling. The rule is pretty straightforward and easy; the game however, not so much.

The basic requirement of the game is simple. There are blocks, each containing a letter, that fall and make stacks like in a Tetris game. You have to tap and choose the blocks in the correct sequence to construct a word. Once constructed, you'll have to swipe a screen below to confirm submission. Once submitted, the blocks chosen will disappear. The longer the words the more points you will have. Every three incorrect submissions will trigger a row of blocks to fall. When a column reaches the ceiling the game is over.

To add more spice to the game, there are Trap blocks. For instance, there's the Ice Trap that periodically freezes its neighbouring blocks. You have to use a frozen block twice to eliminate it. There's the Magnet Trap that pulls all the new blocks on top it in quick succession. More Traps are unlocked the more you level up.

There are also Powerups to unlock perks while playing. If the Traps and Powerups seem a burden to you, you can play the Zen version that only comprises of the basic gameplay. And also still in beta, there's the multiplayer version which is more challenging and rewarding.
