Ramadan: This month's essential app
While you're struggling to get a grip on the shuffled mess your daily routine has become in the month of Ramadan, an app that can help you regain your control over life is nothing less than a knight in shining armour. This year, that app is called 'Ramadan'.
'Ramadan' was designed by Bangladesh based IT company MCC (Multimedia Content and Communication) ltd, and it has basically got everything you need for the month of Ramadan. The app can be conveniently adjusted according to any of the 7 divisions of Bangladesh. The interface being very user friendly, it also has an inbuilt alarm with the Ramadan calendar which alerts the user for both Iftar and half an hour before Sehri. More impressively, the app contains all the Surahs from the holy Quran recorded as well as written (in Arabic and Bangla). Moreover, it also contains an option for the live recitation of the holy Quran courtesy of www.lemon24.com. Along with the rules for Taraweeh and the basics of fasting laid out in simple Bangla, the app also has a compass for when you might need to find Qibla.
However, certain glitches with the app are undeniable. The Tasbeeh counter in the app cannot seem to display digits beyond 9 correctly, making it futile. Also, there are random question marks scattered throughout the Surahs in the app which can definitely be annoying at times. Nevertheless, 'Ramadan' is a great concept and an app with a lot of potential, provided the existing glitches are fixed soon.
