The process of choosing and activating a proper mobile data plan can be difficult and confusing. Luckily, local electronics giant WALTON has developed an app named "BD Data Plan" that seeks to make this easier. Upon opening the app, you are asked to choose your operator. After choosing your operator, the packages are displayed in a list. It is possible to switch between both prepaid plans and postpaid plans. Data plans for both 2G and 3G networks are listed along with the bandwidth they provide. The best part about the app is that you can directly activate a data plan from the app by tapping on the highlighted button next to the data plan of your choice. Another great addition is that all the terms and conditions that apply to the data plans are clearly listed and this can be very helpful in terms of making the proper choice of data plan. Unlike the name suggests, the app does not stick to providing you with just data plans. If you click the icon with the human silhouette on the top right, it also provides the USSD codes for checking balance, your own phone number and IMEI. There is also the ability to share the app with your friends. To sum it up, this app can come really handy if you update it on a regular basis. The only downside is its absence from the other major mobile platforms.
