Masks with voice muffling feature made mandatory after people can’t stop having opinions
Students, doctors and social media users, along with everyone else, have been asked to wear the Shut Your Mouf range of masks at all times after November 1.
The masks, which come with a voice muffling feature, was made mandatory after people kept talking about the inefficiency of the government and corruption of government workers.
"These people constantly talk about negative things. Our GDP is higher than India's and all they can talk about is how there is a dominating criminal element embedded in our political structure," House Minister Tokpal said.
Experts believe donning the Shut Your Mouf masks will prevent people from catching the talking-too-much virus which has been going around this country since before its birth.
The masks will also help curb the spread of Gujob, a highly contagious disease which picks up just before the election period.
Detractors of the plan, however, point out that this was nothing but a money grab. "The Shut Your Mouf brand is owned by a person who holds a position in a government office. Allowing him to produce and sell this line of masks stinks of something underhanded," Abedin Shoumik, director of The Centre for Politics and Dialogue, said.
Others also said they did not believe in the plan and it might not work as well as thought.
"These masks are of low quality. You can still not fully muffle the noises. We are thinking of promoting gag orders instead, which is a sock stuffed in your throat," an official of the Ministry of Information said.
Although he worked in the information ministry, he refused to give his name.
