BNP MP demands Khaleda’s release
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) MP Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan today demanded the unconditional release of the party’s imprisoned chairperson Khaleda Zia for the sake of her treatment.
He was talking in the parliament while taking part in the general discussion on the budget for 2018-19 fiscal year this evening. Sattar alleged that bail of Khaleda Zia was not allowed “as part of tricks of the government”.
He said that Khaleda Zia was a victim of the political vengeance of the ruling Awami League, as a result, she is not getting bail in the case.
He also demanded the withdrawal of ‘ghost cases’ filed against BNP’s leaders and activists across the country.
He said that during a pre-election dialogue the prime minister Sheikh Hasina assured them of withdrawing the ‘ghost cases’. But the cases still existed against their names.
