The newly elected mayors and councillors of three city corporations in Dhaka and Chittagong will be sworn-in on Wednesday morning.
“The newly elected mayors and councillors of three city corporations will take oath at Prime Minister’s’ office at 10:00am on Wednesday,” Local Government Division Secretary Abdul Malek told UNB on Tuesday night.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will administer the oath of office to the three newly elected mayors of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), while LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam will administer the oath to newly elected councillors of the cities.
On April 30, the Election Commission officially declared Annisul Huq, Sayeed Khokon and AJM Nasir as elected mayors of DNCC, DSCC and CCC respectively by publishing gazettes.
Besides, 131 general councillors and 45 female councilors from reserved seats of the three city corporations were declared officially elected.

However, the EC did not officially declare any general councilor elected in DSCC Ward No-8, 34 and 53 as re-elections are needed in three polling stations of the Wards.
The elections to the three city corporations in the capital and the port city were held on April 28.
