2 guards injured in attempted robbery at Rupali Bank in Bogura

Miscreants tried to rob a branch of Rupali Bank in Bogura's Gabtali upazila early today by throwing acid and stabbing two Ansar security guards but they failed to break the bank vault.
The injured security guards Masud Rana (28) and Habibur Rahman (25) are now undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura.
The robbers stabbed Masud Rana and threw acid on Habibur Rahman, our Bogura correspondent reports quoting police.
Sabina Yasmin, assistant superintendent (Gabtali circle) of Bogura police, said two robbers entered the bank after breaking open the rooftop door at Sabekpara in the morning.
Sensing their presence, Habibur and Masud caught one of the robber's red handed.
At one stage, the robber threw some combustible substance on Habibur and stabbed Masud leaving them injured.
When the two members started shouting the robbers fled the scene, said the official.
"After watching the CCTV footage of the bank, we found that they went to the bank wearing mask and PPE" said ASP Sabina Yasmin.
Hearing their screams, locals rescued the duo and sent them to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, said Motahar Hossain, branch manager of the Rupali bank.
