Former director general of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) Maj Gen Sadiqur Rahman Chowdhury passed away at Combined Military Hospital on Monday night at the age of 67.
Sadiqur Rahman, who joined the 24th Long Course at Pakistani Military Academy, was commissioned in Pakistani Army on October 14, 1961.
He served as DG of BDR from July 1, 1988 to September 23, 1990, said a BDR press release.
He left behind his wife and two daughters to mourn his death.
He was buried at Banani Cantonment Graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza at DOHS Mahakhali Jame Mosque.
