Shameem Ahsan new envoy to Brazil

The government has decided to appoint M Shameem Ahsan, currently serving as the Bangladesh high commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, as the new ambassador of Bangladesh to Brazil.
A career diplomat, Ahsan undertook ambassadorial assignments in the Islamic Republic of Iran and Brunei Darussalam. He also served the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi and Bangladesh Permanent Missions to UN in Geneva and New York.
He obtained an MBBS degree from Rajshahi Medical College and is a BCS Cadre, said a foreign ministry press release.
He completed a French language course from Centre Audio Visuel de Langues Modernes, Vichy and diplomatic training from Institut International d'Administration Publique, Paris, France.
He obtained 'Diplome de l'Institut' and 'Diplôme d'etudes Supérieures Specialisés' in Diplomacy and Administration of International Organisations from University of Paris XI.
