Rly gatekeepers agitate

At least14 railway gatekeepers yesterday demonstrated in front of the office of Lalmonirhat Railway Divisional Traffic Superintendent (DTS) under west zone railway, demanding regularisation of their jobs. At the programme, the demonstrators said they were not getting their wages for the last four months. Meanwhile, DTS official sources said they were recruited as temporary gatekeepers under a project. The agitators also threatened to go for a tougher programme if their demand was not met immediately. Earlier on July 2, the gatekeepers besieged the office of DTS to press for the same demand.
