BCL men abducts shop owner
Bangladesh Chhatra League men allegedly abducted a cosmetic shop owner yesterday evening and beat him up.
Locals said Chhatra League men led by its Shahjahanpur upazila unit general secretary Asaduzzaman Liton picked up Layeb Ali, 40,from his shop at Noimail under the same upazila.
Liton, however, said they took him with them as he did not return Tk 50,000 of a rickshaw puller.
Locals said Liton along with his men hurled several cocktails at the shop to create panic among the locals.
But Liton denied the allegation of hurling any cocktail.
After about one hour of the abduction, locals rescued critically injured layeb Ali and later he was admitted to a local hospital.
Shahjahanpur Upazila Parishad Vice-chairman Abul Bashar said he saw Chhatra League men hurl cocktails.
Shahjahanpur Police Station Officer-in-charge Anisur Rahman admitted the fact and said they were looking into the matter.
