Malaysia defeated Bangladesh 3-2 in the grand finale of Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football Tournament 2015 today at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.

Malaysia came back in the additional time with midfielder Mohammad Faizad's header from a corner in the 92nd minute to win 3-2 after Bangladesh equalized in the second half with Yasin Khan's header from a corner in the 55th minute. Bangladesh scored their first goal in the 49th minute. Emily scored the goal for Bangladesh from a corner.

Earlier, Malaysia captain Nazirul and forward Kumaahran scored their two goals in the first half of the match. Nazirul scored the first goal from a free kick in the 31st minute of the game. Forward Kumaahran scored the second goal from a counter attack in the 40th minute. 

Malaysia defeated Singapore 1-0 to move to final while Bangladesh beat Thailand 1-0 in the semis.

Malaysia and Bangladesh played in the opening match of the tournament. Malaysia defeated the host side 1-0.

The two teams have played in 11 matches together so far. Malaysia won in eight matches, Bangladesh won once, while two matches were drawn.
