Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to check mosquitoes, in order to prevent dengue across the country.
The problem will be amplified if dengue emerges in the country during this time of crisis caused by coronavirus, she said.
She was addressing a video conference with government officials of 64 districts of the country from her official residence Gono Bhaban in the morning.
The prime minister's directives came after mayor-elect of Dhaka North City Corporation Atiqul Islam -- during the video conference -- talked about different steps taken by the city corporation to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
After Atiqul's speech, the prime minister said, "Take immediate action to kill mosquitos. Last night, I went to sleep with the buzzing of mosquitoes."
