Dengue death toll rises to 48

At least two more dengue patients died and 437 were admitted to different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00am yesterday.

With this, the total number of dengue deaths rose to 48.

Among the deaths, 18 are at Cox's Bazar, four at Barishal, five at Chattogram and 21 are at Dhaka, according to the DGHS.

The total number of dengue cases this year rose to 12,875. Meanwhile, 1,529 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment at hospitals. A total of 11,298 patients have been released from hospitals so far.

Warning the city corporations of a major outbreak of dengue virus this year, experts suggested they take extensive measures to control the Aedes mosquitoes.
