Don't want to impose lockdown as it's harmful for country: Health Minister
Health Minister Zahid Maleque today said the country will suffer if the government imposes lockdown.
"And that is why the lockdown is not being imposed," he said while inaugurating CT scan machine and dialysis unit at the Manikganj Sadar Hospital today.
"Covid-19 cases are growing at an alarming rate; the situation of the country will be terrible if people don't comply with the government's 11-point directive," our Manikganj correspondent quoted the minister as saying.
He said, "In many places, including the Dhaka International Trade Fair, health guidelines are not being observed properly. This is a matter of concern."
"There is no substitute for wearing masks. We have to wear masks so that we do not become infected," he added.
