Bangladesh to get 60 lakh doses of Pfizer vaccine next month: health minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque today said that a total of 60 lakh doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in the country under COVAX facility in the beginning of August.
The minister came up with the remarks after visiting Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital Convention Center.
He said Bangladesh government has received a letter from the World Health Organization on Friday regarding this.
A total of 60 lakh doses of Pfizer vaccine will be sent to Bangladesh in early August, health minister said quoting the letter.
On the other hand, 50 lakh doses of Chinese Sinopharm vaccine will arrive in the country either at the end of the current month or beginning of next month, he also said.
"We are expecting that within next one and half months, we would have one to one and half crore doses of vaccines in hand," Zahid Maleque said.
