No Covid-19 death for fifth consecutive day

No deaths were reported from Covid-19 for the fifth consecutive day today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country remains 29,123 and the mortality rate is 1.49 percent.

At least 28 new infections from Covid-19 were recorded in the 24 hours till 8am today. With this, the total number of cases rose to 19,52,023, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 0.62 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.06 percent, said the press release.

A total of 4,491 samples were tested across the country during this time.

At least 610 patients recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,77,933 and the recovery rate at 96.72 percent, added the release.
