6 Covid-19 deaths for 2nd consecutive day

Six people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The number of deaths from Covid-19, reported in 24 hours, was six yesterday as well.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,001 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

At least 197 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,77,443 added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.03 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.36 percent.

A total of 19,132 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 226 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,42,274 and the recovery rate at 97.77 percent.

Among the six deceased, three were men and three were women. Of them, one was between 31-40, two between 41-50 and three were above 60 years old, added the release.
