4 Covid-19 deaths, 277 new cases in 24 hours

Four people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 28,005 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

At least 277 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,77,720, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.44 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.34 percent.

A total of 19,237 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

At least 326 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,42,600 and the recovery rate at 97.77 percent.

Of the four deceased, two were males and two females. Of them, one was between 41-50 years old, two were within 51-60, and one was between 11-70 years old, added the release.
