Three people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,034 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 295 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,80,005, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.29 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.15 percent.

A total of 22,870 samples were tested across the country in the 24-hour period.

At least 247 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,44,664 and the recovery rate at 97.76 percent.

Among the three deceased, two were men and one was woman. Of them, one was between 51-60, one between 61-70 and one between 71-80, added the release.
