2 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, positivity rate 15.53%

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,162 and the death rate stands at 1.47 percent.

At least 1,902 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during the period.

The current positivity rate is 15.53 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.76 percent.

Meanwhile, with the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 19,78,689, added the release.

A total of 12,246 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 307 patients have recovered from Covid-19 within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,08,297 and the recovery rate at 96.44 percent, said the release.

Of the deceased, one was a man and the other, a woman. Of them, one was under 10 years old and the other was between 51-60, added the release.
