1 Covid-19 death, 269 new infections recorded in 24 hours

One person died of Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,017, and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

A total of 20,052 samples were tested across the country and at least 269 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of infected to 15,78,819, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.34 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 14.25 percent.

At least 249 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,43,740 and the recovery rate is 97.78 percent. 

The deceased was a woman and was between 81-90 years old, added the release.
