GB football underway

The annual inter-department football tournament of Gono Bishwabidyalay (GB) kicked off at the university's central ground yesterday.

A total of 165 female students, divided into 11 teams, and 208 male students, split into 13 teams, are taking part in the 18-day competition.

Professor Mahmud Shah Qureshi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, inaugurated the event.

In two matches on the first day, Politics and Governance defeated Pharmacy 2-1 in a women's match while English edged Bengali 1-0 in a men's match.
