Earthquake in Turkey, Syria: President Hamid offers all possible assistance
President Abdul Hamid today expressed shock and sorrow at the loss of lives and damage of properties in the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
In a condolence message, the president prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved families.
The president offered all possible assistance from the Government and people of Bangladesh, saying, "Bangladesh Government and its people are always by the side of the disaster victims of Turkey and Syria."
A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck central Turkey and northwest Syria, killing many people as buildings and establishments collapsed across the snowy region.
Abdul Hamid wished for early recovery of the injured.
