Indian actor Mukul Dev, known for his versatile performances across Hindi, Punjabi, South Indian cinema, and television, passed away on Friday night at the age of 54. The cause of death remains undisclosed as of now.

Rahul Dev, who is the oldest brother of Mukul Dev, shared the heartbreaking news via an official statement on Instagram, writing:

"Our brother Mukul Dev passed away peacefully in New Delhi last night. He is survived by his daughter Sia Dev. Missed by siblings Rashmi Kaushal, Rahul Dev and nephew Sidhant Dev. Please join us for cremation at 5 PM."

Following the news of his demise, heartfelt tributes and condolences poured in on social media from celebrities who had worked with the late actor.

 

Veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee, who co-starred with Mukul in the 1996 thriller "Dastak", wrote:

"It's impossible to put into words what I'm feeling. Mukul was a brother in spirit, an artist whose warmth and passion were unmatched. Gone too soon, too young. Miss you meri jaan... until we meet again."

Actor Vindu Dara Singh, confirming Mukul's demise to India Today, shared a heartfelt message:

"Rest in peace my brother Mukul Dev! The time spent with you will always be cherished and 'Son of Sardaar 2' will be your swansong, bringing laughter and joy to audiences."

 

He also revealed that Mukul had withdrawn from public life after the loss of his parents and had been hospitalized in recent days due to declining health.

Dia Mirza reacted with disbelief: "Can't believe this ."

Sonu Sood paid tribute, saying, "RIP Mukul bhai. You were a gem. Will always miss you. Stay strong, Rahul Dev bhai."

Arshad Warsi shared, "Heartbroken to hear about Mukul Dev. He was a friend, colleague, a wonderful person with a beautiful soul."

Neil Nitin Mukesh wrote: "Really upset with the sad news of dear Mukul leaving us so soon. A powerhouse performer and a lovely person. My deepest condolences."

Tusshar Kapoor, who worked with Mukul in "Chaar Din Ki Chandni", said: "RIP Mukul, you were a lovely co-star and human being. My deepest condolences to Rahul Dev and the entire family."

Born on September 17, 1970, in New Delhi, Mukul Dev had a prolific career spanning multiple Indian film industries and television. He made his television debut in "Mumkin" (1996) and his film debut in Dastak the same year. Known for his roles in "Yamla Pagla Deewana", "Son of Sardaar", "R... Rajkumar", and "Jai Ho", he brought depth and charisma to a wide range of characters.

A graduate of St Columba's School, New Delhi, Mukul also held a certificate in aeronautics from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Aviation in Raebareli, showcasing his diverse interests beyond the silver screen.

Mukul Dev is survived by his daughter, Sia Dev. His passing leaves a void in the Indian entertainment industry.
