Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad is in home isolation after one of his family members tested positive for Covid-19.

Dr Aminul Hasan, director (hospitals and clinics) of DGHS confirmed this to The Daily Star.

"He is in home isolation from yesterday (Monday). One of his family members tested positive for Covid-19 recently," Dr Aminul Hasan said.

Dr Abul Kalam Azad will also be tested for the virus. Until then, he will stay in home isolation.

"He is performing his duties from home," Dr Aminul added.
