Polling agents of BNP candidates threatened: BNP men
Eight agents of BNP were threatened and asked to leave polling stations at Curzan Hall and Udayan School, alleged Dhaka University white panel teacher’s convener Prof ABM Obaidul Islam.
“The situation of other four centres I have visited so far are the same,” he said.
Pro BNP teachers have submitted a written complaint to Laboratory School Centre as they were ousted from the polling stations, reports our correspondent quoting Prof Obaidul.
Agents of Islami Andalan Bangladesh and AL were seen present at the centres, our correspondent reported after visiting polling centres.
Rashid, convenor of DU Amar Ekushey Hall Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, claimed that No-20 ward former AL Secretary Ibrahim Rasel threatened their agents in order to drive them out from the polling centres.
Rasel denied the allegation.
Abdul Motaleb, presiding officer of University Laboratory School told The Daily Star that only three votes were cast till 9:40am.
However, no voters were seen at the centres in over an hour since voting began at 8am.
