Former UP chairman found dead in Chattogram house
Police recovered the body of a former Union Parishad chairman from his house at Satkania upazila under Chattogram this morning.
The deceased Abdul Haque (75) – a former chairman of Keochia union of Satkania might have been killed in his sleep as there were injury marks on his head, said police.
Haque's caretaker Jamir (26) was detained after the incident, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.
"On information from locals, a police team went to his residence around 10:00am today and recovered the body," said Anwar Hussain, officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station.
"The body was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for an autopsy," said the OC.
"Haque used to reside in the house alone with a caretaker. We will interrogate the caretaker in this connection," the OC added.
