7 sent to jail for murder of Brahmanbaria businessman
A Brahmabaria court yesterday sent seven persons including a local Jubo League to jail in connection with a case filed over the murder businessman Abu Nasir last year.
Masud Parvez, chief judicial magistrate of Brahmanbaria sent them to jail rejecting their bail petitions after the investigation officer of the case produced them before his court, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting Court Inspector Kazi Didarul Alam.
According to the case statement, the businessman Abu Nasir organised a meeting on May 23 last year against Abu Kausar Bhuiyan, joint general secretary of the upazila Jubo League, and his associates for drug peddling at Humayun Kabir Primary School ground.
Kausar's men then attacked Nasir when he was on his way home, and fled the scene leaving him critically injured, it stated.
The businessman died at a hospital in Dhaka on May 29.
The victim's family filed a murder case making Abu Kausar Bhuiyan the prime accused.
On March 2 this year, the IO of the case submitted a charge sheet against them with a court in connection with the case.
