Rifat murder: 5 death row convict awardees sent to Barishal divisional jail

Five death row convicts of the Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna have been sent to Barishal Divisional Jail under tight security this morning.

Md Anwar Hossain, superintendent of Barguna district jail told The Daily Star that the death convicts were sent to the jail around 10:00am.

Yesterday morning, Rifat's wife Ayesha Siddique Minni, who was also a death convict, was sent to Kashimpur jail from Barguna Jail.

There is no proper arrangement to keep the death row inmates in Barguna district jail and this is why the six death convicts including Minni have been transferred to these jails, he said.
