Rail link with Kushtia snapped after freight train, engine trolley collision

Train movement from Kushtia, Rajshahi, Gopalganj, Faridpur and Goalando was suspended after a head-on collision between a freight train and an engine trolley, adjacent to Kushtia Boro Station this afternoon.

A Faridpur bound freight train carrying wheat collided with a halted engine trolley near Kushtia Boro Station around 2:00pm today, reports our Kushtia correspondent quoting Jamal Uddin, station master of the railway station.

All eight bogies of the freight train were derailed, snapping train movement between Kushtia and all districts, connected with the route, till filing this report at 4:00pm, he added.

No one was reported injured in the accident.
