No one will be allowed to enter any market, mall and shop without mask from today, Bangladesh Dokan Malik Samity has announced.
At a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club this morning, Md Helal Uddin, president of Bangladesh Dokan Malik Samity came up with the announcement.
This directive will remain valid till February next year, he said.
Talking to The Daily Star, Zahirul Haque Bhuiyan, general secretary of the organisation, said they will put up placards and banners in front of shopping malls and markets mentioning that there will be no service for buyers if they do not wear masks.
On October 25, the government asked public and private organisations not to provide services to people without a face covering as it aims to curb a possible second wave of Covid-19.
A "no mask, no service" policy will be implemented and all organisations will be monitored because the government made masks mandatory in all institutions, markets, schools, social and religious gatherings.
The directives came during a virtual cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
