Lalmonirhat Sadar SI closed over missing loaded magazine

Sub-inspector (SI) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Khalequzzaman Badsha has been closed to police lines after he lost a loaded magazine with eight rounds of bullets in his possession.

According to police and local sources, SI Badsha tried to arrest a man from the College Bazar area of Lalmonirhat town without a warrant on Monday night. He failed to arrest the man due to local resistance at that time. A loaded magazine could not be found on his person after the incident.

He conducted a search for the missing magazine on the spot but failed to find it. The SI could not present a satisfactory explanation to the higher authorities regarding this incident.

Confirming the incident, Lalmonirhat Superintendent of Police, Abida Sultana, told The Daily Star that the incident is being investigated. Police are trying to recover the missing magazine.
