‘Hundi’ trader arrested with $12,500 from Benapole checkpost
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an alleged 'hundi' trader with USD 12,500, and Rs 20,000 from Benapole Immigration Check Post area today.
The arrestee was identified as Kabir Uddin Bhuiyan (40) of Fukra village under Kashiani Police Station in Gopalganj district, our Benapole correspondent reports.
Acting on a tip-off that a passenger from India was coming to Bangladesh with huge amount of dollars and rupees, BGB members raided the check post area and arrested the man with USD 12,500, and Rs 20,000 hidden in his bag, said BGB-49 Commanding Officer Lt Col Selim Reza.
The arrestee has been handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
A case was filed in this connection.
