Expatriates' Welfare Minister Imran Ahmad today said the government has taken step to provide certificates to returning migrant workers based on the skills they acquired in host countries.

If workers are recognised based on their prior learnings, regular labour migration will be ensured and also help boost remittance earnings, he said.

The minister was addressing an online conference marking the inaugural Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) certificate distribution among returnees at eight Technical Training Centres across the country, said a press release of the ministry.

Addressing the event as chief guest, Imran Ahmad said besides giving RPL certificates, different training initiatives have been taken to increase overseas jobs for skilled workers.

Secretary of the ministry Ahmed Munirus Saleheen addressed the conference as special guest, while Director General of Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training Shamsul Alam chaired the conference, the release said.
